We can all have nerves at the start of a presentation and it's important to reframe these nerves so the audience doesn't focus on you "being nervous."

If we tell the audience that we're nervous, they are going to be looking for signs of you being nervous.  These words also reinforce our own mindset and it can undermine your ability to get your message across with confidence.

Instead of saying, "I'm nervous!' we can reframe it to, "I'm excited to present this for the first time."

How you start a presentation sets the tone for what's to come and whilst it's OK to be nervous, we don't want to audience to focus on this.  All presentations should be on the AUDIENCE EXPERIENCE.  Starting with confidence helps the audience feel like they want to listen to you.
